A Short Reflection on My Erasmus Experience at Istanbul Gedik University

Reflecting on my Erasmus experience at Istanbul Gedik University, I realize how much this journey has enriched my life on multiple levels. Living in Istanbul has been an eye-opening experience; the city’s unique blend of history, culture, and vibrant daily life has truly made this period unforgettable.

Academically, practice at Istanbul Gedik University was challenging and rewarding. I appreciated the support from professors, who encouraged critical thinking and creativity. The international atmosphere allowed me to meet students from various backgrounds, fostering enriching exchanges and discussions that broadened my perspective.

One of my most memorable moments was visiting iconic landmarks like the Hagia Sophia, Galata tower, blue mosque, taksim square, Suleymaniye Mosque and the Bosphorus, which highlighted the rich cultural heritage of Istanbul. Experiencing these places firsthand added a new depth to my understanding of the city and its significance.

Personally, this experience helped me become more independent and adaptable. Living in a new country pushed me out of my comfort zone and encouraged me to embrace new experiences and challenges. This growth has had a positive impact on both my personal and academic life, teaching me skills that I believe will be valuable in my future career.

Overall, my time at Istanbul Gedik University and in the Erasmus program has been one of the most transformative experiences of my life. I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of this international community and would highly recommend this journey to future students.

Thank you for the support and guidance throughout my time here.
